A contestant on Survivor Season 44, Matthew’s personal favorite is the presence of pineapple on pizza.
Matthew is from Pickerington, Ohio but currently lives in Columbus, Ohio. In an exclusive interview with Parade, Matthew revealed that the three words that best define him are “spontaneous, compassionate, and daring”. When asked about his personal grudge, he added:
“Crazy talkers, people who don’t give others enough time to talk in a conversation, purple and white, distorted ice cream, odd numbers, pineapple on pizza, chocolate malt candy.”
Also, when asked about his favorite pastime, he said:
“Adventures with my son and wife, waterslides and waterslides, tasting food from around the world, growing and collecting flora.”
He also revealed that trust is the most important factor in a partnership. He said that to play the game, one must be able to trust the other. However, they must have different skills than you. Matthew found that one thing he would never do in the game was use the healing power of contact to affect other people.
“I’m currently studying massage therapy. And one thing I told myself I would never do is use the healing powers of touch to influence people. In my opinion, that’s unethical. I I want people to be able to appreciate what I do and not see it as a power game, I’m using it to coerce people.”
When asked what he’s most satisfied with, Matej said it’s his family. He also said that he would not be where he is today without them. Matthew shared the best advice he received before entering the contest:
“My sister gave me the biggest advice before I hit the field. And she told me that no matter how hard it is, I should remember that they are only temporary. If the rain falls on your head, and you feel shivers and cold and shivers, and you don’t see it ending, take it as temporary.”
