Who Is Matty Matheson From “Selena + Chef” Season 4?

The fourth season of Selena + Chef will premiere on August 18, with a fresh lineup of world-renowned chefs to provide Selena Gomez with an exciting culinary experience. Matty Matheson, a 40-year-old Canadian chef, restaurateur and online celebrity, is one of those chefs. Adrienne Cheatham, Devonn Francis, Gordon Ramsay, Kristen Kish, Ludo Lefebvre, Nick DiGiovanni, Paola Velez, Priya Krishna and Rachael Ray are among the other chefs who will be teaching Gomez how to cook during her summer vacation in Malibu. In addition, the series has so far raised $400,000 for 26 charities through the airing of its episodes.

SELENA + CHEF is back! This time, Selena goes to the beach with her friends and family for some summer fun. Season 4 takes place in a stunning beach house in Malibu, where Selena will continue to learn the joys of cooking from celebrity chefs.

Matheson was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, and his grandfather was a restaurateur, so cooking was in his blood. He started his career at Le Sélect bistro, where he learned French culinary methods from chef Rang Nguyen. Matheson joined La Palette in 2006, and by 2010 was head chef at the new Parts & Labor restaurant. The creative chef founded Matty’s Pattys Burger Club and Prime Seafood Palace in Toronto, Canada. During the pandemic, Matheson opened two more restaurants: Matty’s Pattys in Toronto and Matty’s Meat and Three in Fort Erie.

He later rose to fame as the host of Vice’s cooking and travel series Dead Set on Life and It’s Suppertime. His cheerful and friendly nature earned him a place on the Internet program Munchies. Furthermore, Matty appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where he demonstrated how to make a family dish of stuffed clams. Matheson published his first cookbook, Matty Matheson: A Cookbook, in October 2018, and his second, Home Style Cookery, in 2020. Additionally, he co-hosted the Powerful Truth Angels podcast with Alex 2Tone in 2017, which was well received by listeners. In addition, he runs his own food and music event in Toronto, Mattyfest, and has shares in two Maker Pizza stores in collaboration with Shlomo Buchler.

Furthermore, Matty collaborated for several years with designers Castor Design, with whom he founded the Matheson cookware brand. She has known the designer since they both worked at Oddfellows and Parts & Labor restaurants 12 years ago.
