Who Is Max Thieriot’s Wife? All About Lexi Murphy

Max Thieriot made his debut at age 15 — around the same time he met his wife, Lexi Thieriot (née Murphy).

The Earth of fire star and his wife have been together since their teenage years. Although they are both from California, they actually met overseas while on vacation with their families. Seven years later, Max brought Lexi back to that vacation spot to propose. The following year, in 2013, the couple got married.

“The best weekend of my life”, Max wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter) after the wedding. “Married the most beautiful and wonderful woman in the whole world.”

In 2015, the couple had their first child together, a son, Beaux. Their second son, Maximus, followed soon after in 2018.

While her husband warms up the small screens, she still prefers to keep a low profile. So who is Max Thieriot’s wife? Here’s everything you need to know about Lexi Thieriot and her relationship with the actor.

They met as teenagers

Before they met, the couple were born and raised in Northern California — Max grew up in Occidental, a small town in Sonoma County, while Lexi lived in Santa Rosa — but their paths crossed far from home.

Their chance meeting happened in 2005 when the two, who were 16 at the time, were on vacation with their families in the Caribbean. Until that moment, Max had just started his acting journey with film roles Get that kid alongside the young Kristen Stewart and Cheating pacifier with Vin Diesel. Despite his budding Hollywood career, he and Lexi started dating and have been together ever since.

In 2019, Max shared a sweet throwback photo of their first Valentine’s Day together on Instagram. “Happy Valentines day !!!” he wrote in the title. “Give it back to our first ❤️.”

He proposed to her on vacation

After seven years of dating, the couple got engaged. In 2012, Max took Lexi on a trip to the Caribbean, the same place they met as teenagers. During a two-week vacation, he popped the question.

“I think she expected him to come,” the actor said Flaunt magazine. “Then she ended up thinking it wasn’t going to happen because I waited a whole week before I asked.”

They got married in 2013

A year after their engagement, Max and Lexi got married at Lake Tahoe. The couple said “I do” on June 1, 2013 in an outdoor ceremony surrounded by friends and family, including Kristen Stewart, Max’s childhood friend, who attended the wedding.

A few days later, Max celebrated his newly acquired marital status with post on X (formerly known as Twitter), writing: “Best weekend of my life. He married the most beautiful and wonderful woman in the whole world.”

Based on his social media activity, Max still seems to feel the same way. In 2019, he shared a sweet birthday post for his wife on Instagram.

“They remind me every day that I’m the luckiest guy in the world because the first thing I see when I open my eyes is your face,” he wrote alongside their selfie. “Happy birthday my queen!”

They have two children

Twenty days later, Max announced the news on social networks. “This year Christmas came early!” he wrote in a since-deleted post on Instagram. “@lexithieriot and I are so excited to announce the birth of our son Beaux. We love him to the moon!”

Three years later, they welcomed their second son, Maximus Thieriot, in January 2018.

That same month, Max shared a photo of his growing family on Instagram, writing, “So much to be thankful for and look forward to this year, but these 2 (soon to be 3) are at the top of that list for me. ❤️.”

She helped inspire Earth of fire

In 2022, Max’s hit series Earth of fire premiered on CBS. As creator and co-writer of the series, the actor spoke at length about his creative process, attributing the creation of the series to his life experiences growing up near wildfires in Northern California.

But the other big part of the series’ development came from his wife.

“When I started writing it, at first, I wasn’t sure what the route would be. Initially, my intentions were to try to create this world and present it, and then get them to make a show,” he said during an interview with Collider.

“As we were going through the process, I wasn’t sure if I was going to star in it or just repeat myself,” he continued.

He then told it to several people, including himself SEAL team costar AJ Buckley encouraged him to take on the lead role. However, in the end, Lexi talked him into it.

“My wife said, ‘Honey, you’ve got to play a part,'” the Bates Motel said the actor.

Even before she encouraged him to take that leap, Lexi was partly responsible for the show itself. In an interview with Keep Hammering Podcast, Max explained that the idea for the show about a prisoner volunteering to fight wildfires came from his other half.

“My wife’s cousin is the executive director of a boot camp so I knew about it [California’s inmate firefighter program].”

They share a love for wine

Being from Sonoma County, it’s no surprise that Max quickly became interested in winemaking. Actually, SEAL team the actor grew up in a vineyard — his parents bought BA Thieriot, a winery, in the late 80s.

In 2011, he followed in his family’s footsteps with Senses Wines, a winery he founded with two childhood friends. “Growing up in wine country, this is something I’ve always hoped I’d have the opportunity to do,” he told City and country.

It’s a passion he and his wife share. Lexi’s love for the wine industry came after an internship in Napa Valley. After graduating from Loyola Marymount University with a degree in business in 2010, she worked at Landmark Vineyards for three years before joining the team at Senses Wines.
