Former Mötley Crüe guitarist Mick Mars has been married to his wife Seraina Mars (née Schönenberger) for almost a decade, but the couple has been in a relationship for even longer.
The model met Mick for the first time in 2007 at a Mötley Crüe concert. According to Seraina, who spoke with Blick magazine about her relationship, the couple experienced what she described as “love at first sight.” “I’m completely in love,” she told the paper in 2008, adding, “[He is] the man of my life. We are the perfect couple.”
The couple dated for six years before tying the knot on December 13, 2013. Although they mostly kept their relationship under wraps, making only a handful of public appearances together over the years, Seraina occasionally let fans know about their love through her social media accounts.
In December 2020, she honored her husband with a sweet anniversary post on Instagram, writing, “I know this has been a tough year for all of us, but having your soul mate by your side makes you feel like you can conquer anything together.”

After a year of dating Mick, Seraina made a brief cameo alongside Mick in Mötley Crüe’s music video for the song “Saints of Los Angeles”. He can be seen standing next to the guitarist around the 2:20 mark.
She is 33 years younger than Mick
Seraina was reportedly born on October 4, 1984 – 33 years after Mick, born Robert Alan Deal, whose birthday was May 4, 1951.
She shared hers and Mick’s birthday ritual with fans in 2020, writing: “We always toast with cake at midnight.”
She married Mick on Friday the 13th

While the couple’s wedding ceremony was kept under wraps, Seraina later shared their wedding date with fans on Twitter 2020 with an anniversary tribute to the rock star. “My Martian and I got married on Friday the 13th (of December) 2013,” she wrote. “Seven years married and a total of 13 years together.”
She is a photographer
The model, who is known to share stunning photos of Mick on tour, announced on her Instagram page in December 2020 that she was opening a separate account for her photography endeavors.
“Hey everyone. I decided to create a secondary profile where I will post some of my film photos,” she wrote. “For those who are interested in such things. @serainamars_on film. (Don’t blame you if you didn’t).”
The account contains landscape shots of trees, nature trails and old buildings.
She has a matching tattoo of Mick – and so does her family

In 2016, Seraina published a photo collage on Twitter myself, mom, dad and sister getting the same tattoos. In the center of the collage was a photo of Mick’s hand covering the group’s hands, showing his own tattoo. “Mars family!!” Seraina captioned the post.
She plays the guitar
Mick isn’t the only musician in the Mars household: Seraina revealed in tweet from 2013 that she also plays the guitar. When a fan asked her if she took lessons or was self-taught, she replied, “I never had a real teacher until I learned to play the guitar.”
Her famous husband helps her keep her instrument in tip-top shape, as Seraina shared in a Facebook post in 2018. “This guy is very handsome when you break a string,” she captioned a video of her fixing it.
Mick even grabbed his wife’s guitar by mistake on the way to a video shoot. “Back to when Marsman accidentally grabbed the wrong guitar case and my Strat turned it into a music video,” she said chirped in July 2022.
She cooks meals from scratch for her and Mick
While showing off the artistic knife set she and Mick bought her sister Lina Layne for her birthday in May 2021 on Instagram, Seraina revealed that she does most of the cooking for the Mars household. “My sister @lina_layne cooks most of her meals from scratch, just like I do for us,” she wrote.
The proud chef previously gave fans a glimpse of one of her homemade creations – pizza. “Marsman has nothing against this little weekend baking tradition,” she said.
She customized Mick’s stage clothes

Before Mick’s decision to retire from touring with Mötley Crüe in September 2022, he wore his wife’s creations on stage. After a fan asked on Instagram if Seraina would customize his outfit for the stage, she replied: “Sometimes I do – I like the patches I make, add the rivets or adjust the guitar strap or something.”
According to Seraina, there is one element that Mars does not like though – chains. “He doesn’t want the possibility of getting tangled up while playing,” she explained.
