He has a high school diploma. Pete earned his master’s degree in physical education in 1976 after three years as a graduate assistant. Pete was elected to the Pacific Athletes Hall of Fame in 1995.
Pete was hired as a graduate assistant at the University of Arkansas in 1977 after working for Pacific. He was given greater duties and responsibilities as an assistant in Arkansas than when he was in the Pacific. He went on to serve as an assistant professor at Iowa State University and North Carolina State University after Arkansas.
