Rashida Jones and Ezra Koenig have kept quiet about their long-term relationship and parenthood.
Although the couple have mostly kept their romance under wraps since they reportedly started dating in 2016, they haven’t always shied away from public displays of affection.

The two became parents for the first time in 2018 when they welcomed a son named Isaiah. Before their relationship blossomed, Jones spoke with Guard 2014 about her monthly advice column for Jezebel and opened up about relationships.
“I’m totally obsessed with relationships, female friendships, romantic relationships, all of it. I’m just fascinated by thinking about what works and what doesn’t,” she said.
As for being single and having children, Jones was “happy” with her circumstances at the time. “It took me a long time to get to a place where I’m actually okay with it,” she added.

After his birth on April 8, 1984, Ezra’s parents moved their family to Glen Ridge, New Jersey, where he grew up, according to Rolling stone.
After graduating from suburban high school, Koenig returned to New York and attended Columbia University; he graduated in 2006, according to Columbia College Today.

In an interview with PEOPLE in 2008, he revealed that he came up with the name from a movie he was making inspired The lost boys. Koenig also talked about how the band was initially received.
“For our first six months, we mostly played on campus and at parties. It was hard to say [if people liked us just] because they were our friends,” he said.
Despite this, their popularity grew far beyond Columbia University. A few years later, Vampire Weekend won the Grammy for Best Alternative Album twice: Modern vampires of the city in 2014 and Father of the bride In 2019, the group was also in the running for two other nominations.

Jones described the time in their lives as “very emotionally intense,” as Isaiah’s birth came just eight months before the death of her mother and actress, Peggy Lipton.
“The craziest thing about birth and death is the sheer rawness of the feeling,” Jones told NPR in 2021. “It’s very binary, both things — becoming a mother and losing a mother — like, there’s my life before, and there’s my life after. And strangely, there’s something that can’t be recognized before those two things happen.”
