Dequantes Devontay Lamar was born on October 4, 1989 in the city of Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Ronald McNair High School and played baseball competitively for nearly four years while a student there. From an early age, he was attracted to both reading and creative writing.
He wanted to be a professional center fielder and lead batsman. He was able to secure a scholarship to Fort Valley University and played varsity football while still a freshman. But he immediately changed his mind and began rapping more seriously. He accepted a job at the airport, but soon lost it. In addition, after losing his job, he engaged in drug dealing and burglary, for which he was sentenced to 15 months in prison. After his release from prison, he began to really try his hand at music.

He got the chance to tour with none other than Trinidad James and appeared on several tracks with top artists like Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz and YG.
He also released two more mixtapes titled “I Promise I Will Never Stop Goin In” and “Still Goin In”. One of them, “Type of Way”, was named the “10th best compilation of 2013.” After that, he launched a series of mixtapes with numerous successful singles. Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh), one of his songs, reached number four on the Rap chart and was certified 2X platinum. He also participated in numerous songs and compositions of other musicians.
