Robert Bigelow attended Highland Elementary School in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he grew up. He was introduced to science after witnessing several nuclear weapons tests conducted about 70 miles northwest of the city. He entered the University of Nevada, Reno in 1962 to study banking and real estate. In 1967, he graduated from Arizona State University. Despite his limitations, he was only interested in this profession in order to become rich. It is also said that when he was 12 years old, he decided that space travel was his future.
