She was selected by the ABC as a full-time co-anchor of the morning news program after an assessment of her abilities. Robert took a break from her profession to treat a rare blood disease, and in 2007 she was diagnosed with breast cancer. In September, she received a bone marrow transplant. She returned to work on February 20, 2013, 174 days after completing therapy. She helped her show achieve the highest possible ratings.
