Roxann Dawson was raised agnostic before discovering, exploring and diving deep into Catholicism. In this sense, the agnostic household gave her a sense of ‘lack’ or ‘lack of feeling of reaching out to God.’ She researched various religions and faiths and wrote about them in her diary. In 1975, Roxann Dawson played Diana Morales in a production called “A Chorus Line”. Although she was an active member of the school’s drama and theater group, this was her first acting role.
She also performed in the plays of the Krug Repertory Theatre. She transitioned from an actress to a performer behind the camera. She began directing Star Trek: Voyager in 1995, followed by Any Day Now (1998), Star Trek: Enterprise (2001) and Charmed (1998).
