Before working for an insurance company, he played football for Auburn University. He started out as a rookie before earning a three-year scholarship to the Auburn Tigers, eventually being named team captain his senior year. Like Shiver, his ex-wife Lindsay is also from Thomasville and attended Auburn University, where she cheered for the school’s team.
In 2005, she was named Miss Houston County, placing second in that year’s National Peanut Festival pageant, according to CBS42.
The two got married in 2007 and later had three children.
He survived an alleged assassination plot
Lindsay, along with her alleged boyfriend and alleged proposed killer in the Bahamas, are accused of plotting Shiver’s murder.
Per Bahamas Court News — who reported the story on July 28 — the trio were arrested by police in Abaco, Bahamas, where the former couple shared a home. Police made the arrest after discovering a chain of WhatsApp messages alleging a plot to kill Shiver while investigating the July 16 burglary at Grabber’s Bar and Grill in Guana.
According to Bahamas Court News, the trio later appeared before Acting Chief Justice Robert Reckley and were not required to enter a plea. They are currently in a Bahamian jail and are due back in court on October 5.
He’s a dad
During their time together, Shiver and Lindsay had three children. With her boyfriend’s children in mind, Chrisley said she was keeping details of the alleged murder plot involving Lindsay under wraps when she spoke on Nick Viall’s show Viall files podcast on September 14.
“The kids are involved,” Chrisley said during the episode. “I just have so much respect for them that I would never say, ‘This happened. That’s what happened.’ That’s what they’ll talk about when they’re ready to talk about it.”
