Rick Dennison and his beloved wife, Shannon Dennison, are happily married, cherishing every minute they share. Their family happiness extends to five children. Dennison graduated from Rocky Mountain High School in 1976, after excelling in football, baseball and basketball. He later pursued his athletic and intellectual interests at Colorado State University. Dennison moved to the NFL and played linebacker for the Denver Broncos from 1982 to 1990, contributing to four Super Bowl appearances. He started his coaching career in 1995 with the Broncos. He worked as an offensive assistant, special teams coordinator and offensive coach until 2009.
Dennison later served as offensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos (2006-2008, 2015-2016), Houston Texans (2010-2013) and Buffalo Bills (2017). He also served as the quarterbacks coach for the Baltimore Ravens in 2014. In addition to the Broncos, Dennison’s coaching abilities extended to the New York Jets in 2018. This resulted in his appointment as the Minnesota Vikings’ senior offensive consultant from 2019-2021.

According to Schultz, the Saints are looking to hire Rick Dennison as their running back coordinator. This transfer marks Dennison’s return to football after a two-year absence. Furthermore, it gives him plenty of flexibility and experience as one of the league’s most respected offensive coaches. His acquisition will enhance the skill set of New Orleans’ running back coordinator, who will work with new coordinator Clint Kubiak.
