Biography of Steve Young
Steve Young was born on October 11, 1961 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Young attended Greenwich High School in Greenwich, Connecticut, where he joined the Cardinals football team as a quarterback.
He was named co-captain of the basketball, football and baseball teams. He is now the second leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He wanted to dominate as an NFL quarterback. At the 2000 Republican National Convention, Young gave a speech. He continued to be one of the many famous BYU coaches and athletes who participated in the school’s 2011 “Real Cougar” advertising campaign. Young founded the Forever Young Foundation in 1993 with the goal of providing educational, medical and therapeutic services to children who have serious emotional, medical and financial difficulties.
Young served as a national mentor for ASCEND: Humanitarian Alliance. This non-governmental organization plans trips to South American and African countries to provide life counseling services with long-term solutions in the areas of education, health, business and simple professional skills. In addition to playing football, Young performed in various dramatic roles. He has appeared in a number of dramas, including Frasier, Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Dharma and Greg and others.
