Terry Fontenot, who joined the Saints in 2003, wasn’t even married. He began his career as an NFL scout before being named director of pro scouting after 10 seasons. In 2020, Terry was promoted to Deputy General Manager and Vice President of Professional People. Terry and Tanya had four children at that time, the youngest of which was born during the epidemic. Terry succeeds Thomas Dimitroff, who was fired along with coach Dan Quinn. Terry recently introduced the Falcons’ new head coach, Raheem Morris, and the two have promised a good relationship.
Meet Tanya Fontenot, Terry’s wife
Terry Fontenot knew he would marry Tanya Fontenot (nee Prudhome) when he first met her in 1997. Tanya was a freshman cheerleader at LaGrange High School, where the Falcons general manager played football as a sophomore. In the interview, Terry describes his first conversation with Tanya. Terry and his friends were getting ready to go to a football game. Before entering the bus, Fontenot’s gaze rested on Tanya and he immediately began doing additional push-ups.
Their next encounter was at Taco Bell, where Terry enlisted the help of his friends to distract Tanya’s friends so he could spend some time talking to her. Tanya claimed in their joint interview that Terry was not interested in her during their first meetings. However, she immediately found the football manager to be a lovely person and thought Terry would make a great husband. Terry and Tanya, a soccer couple, grew up in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Previously, the two were featured in an ESPN feature following the devastation caused by Hurricane Laura. Tanya’s parents, Mike and Josetta Prudhome, live near Lake Charles and are touched by the aftermath. Tanya’s family home was destroyed, but it wasn’t until Tanya and her four children traveled to Lake Charles to mourn their grandfather that they saw the full extent of the hurricane’s devastation.
Terry and Tanya set out to help the town where they grew up. In a 2021 ESPN story, the couple said they were brainstorming ideas on what and how they might do it. Tanya is active on Facebook and has previously uploaded several family pictures.
Terry and Tanya Fontenot have four children
Terry Fontenot introduced his children in a video shortly after becoming the general manager of the Falcons. The video included his three older children, as well as the sounds of his wife and another child in the background. Terry said in the video that it was difficult for his three older children to leave Louisiana since they grew up rooting for the New Orleans Saints. Terry wasn’t even married when he started working in Louisiana. Terry and Tanya’s first child was a girl who seemed to be interested in cheerleading, like her mother. Tanya provided several images of her daughter performing in cheer competitions.
Terry’s other child, son Kaiden, seems to be interested in football. Kaiden was spotted wearing the same outfit as his father during draft night in 2022. The couple’s third child, Landree Marie, was born in 2019, and the family even held a gender reveal ceremony. In 2020, the family welcomed the newest addition, a girl. Previously, the Atlanta Falcons website included many photos from the Fontenots family’s first visit to Atlanta in 2021.
