Biography of Tony Iommi
Tony Iommi’s full name is Anthony Frank Iommi. He was born in Birmingham, England. He was the only child of his parents, and his mother’s side of the family was well-to-do. They were the owners of vineyards in an Italian region. His parents were store owners, and his father ran a carpentry business. Ozzy Osbourne, future Black Sabbath bandmate and academic junior, was a student at Iommi’s high school.
Iommi tripped and fell before the age of ten. The incident left scars on his face, especially on his upper lip. As a result, his contemporaries called him “Scarface”. After a while, Iommi became aware of his physical appearance. This prompted Iommi to grow a mustache to hide the scar.
