Meet Zachariah Smith, who will be participating in the 21st season of American Idol.

Zachariah Smith, a musician, husband and father from Amory, Mississippi, who works at Bill’s Hamburgers, is one of the contestants who will compete on the show. He started singing at the age of 6 and learned to play the guitar at the age of 8. In an interview with Monroe Magazine, he said that his main hobbies are singers and entertainers.

He declared:

“Basically, I care about my voice as well as having fun and performing. I believe that was the starting pinnacle of my career.”

At the age of 15, the male singer considered joining American Idol, but realized that he lacked the necessary expertise. After several years of waiting, he auditioned for the upcoming season in Nashville in front of celebrity judges. “I did it because I believe I have a good chance of getting somewhere with it and having the music career I’ve always wanted.”

For the audition, he recalled that when he arrived, there were about 200 to 300 people in the waiting area, all of them singing. It got him thinking about how great the American Idol competition was and the talent it showcased. He said that while watching a lot of people was a great experience, “self-doubt” crept in. He went on to say:

“After I stopped listening to the voices in my brain and got on my horse and started running with it, I started to feel joy in the process. That motivated me to audition in Nashville and give my best.”
