Will Ferrell's Son Magnus Says John C. Reilly Once Sang an Entire Opera Song During Dinner: 'It Was the Most Amazing Thing'

Will Ferrell’s son Magnus saw his share of wild dinner guests.

According to Magnus, 20, his dad’s friend John C. Reilly once treated the party to a sweet serenade. ua Lightweights Podcast with Joe Vulpis clip of the interview, which recently resurfaced on TikTok, didn’t hesitate to name Reilly, 59, as “the craziest person to come to a family dinner.”

“We were doing this Christmas thing with close friends and family,” Magnus recalled. “John C. Reilly was there. And it was pretty normal. And then just at one point he started singing opera.”

Oscar nomination Chicago the star performed the entire aria, he added, laughing. “It was the most amazing thing. Like, it was bizarre! But then you’re like, ‘Wait, this is so funny.’ ”

Will, 57, shares Magnus and two other sons, Mattias and Axel, with Viveca Paulin, his wife since 2000. Reilly, who has starred with Will in a number of comedy hits, including 2008’s Step brothershe shares two sons with his wife Alison Dickey.

Magnus also told Vulpis that he didn’t watch his father’s age-appropriate movies until he was older. “There are still some movies I haven’t seen yet, just because I haven’t seen them,” he said. “I didn’t see it Blades of Glory — which is a kind of crime.”

“Step brothersi mean, it’s my favorite of his movies. I just think it’s funny.”

Magnus joined his parents on the red carpets of a number of Will’s films, including a documentary Will & Harper last September and Dad is at home 2 in 2017.

Last June, Magnus shed some light on what it’s like to have a comedian as a father. In a video he shared on his TikTok, Will could be seen “dressed as a medieval lord to embarrass me at prom,” as Magnus captioned the funny picture.

Magnus is credited with playing the role of the Sea World Kid in his dad’s 2013 film Host 2: The legend continues. Among Will’s upcoming projects as an actor and producer is You are cordially invitedstreaming on Prime Video on January 30.
