A WOMAN has died after her e-bike was followed and hit by a Land Rover in a horrific onslaught.

The victim, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene of the horrific crash in Pleasley, Derbyshire, at around 8pm on Tuesday.

Two people, a man and a woman in their 30s, have since been arrested and a homicide investigation has been launched after the car allegedly crashed into the e-bike.

Derbyshire Police say the 4×4, believed to be a Land Rover Discovery, was following two e-bikes on Batley Lane before crashing into one of them.

The driver, a man in his 20s, and a woman pilot were thrown from the motorbike after officers said they crashed – and the car did not stop at the scene.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the man was taken to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

Two people, a man and a woman in their 30s from the Skegby area of ​​Nottinghamshire, have now been arrested in connection with the incident and are currently in police custody.

DCI Claudia Musson, who is leading the investigation, said: “This is an understandably shocking incident which has left the family grieving the loss of a young woman.

“A team of detectives have been working non-stop since the incident took place and have launched significant lines of inquiry.

“However, we want to hear from anyone who has any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to help us bring those responsible to justice.

“Anyone with information about the dark Land Rover Discovery is of particular interest, may have seen it in the area around the time of the incident – or seen a vehicle matching this description which may have suffered damage or recently been repaired.”

Police say the car was last seen in Rowthorne Lane where it turned right onto the A617 towards New Houghton.

They believe the dark colored Land Rover Discovery was manufactured between 2004 and 2009.
