Woman, 31, shot dead by police after ‘attacking officers with knife’ in German supermarket

A WOMAN has been shot dead by police after she allegedly attacked officers at a supermarket in Germany with a knife.

According to reports, the police received a report this evening about a person behaving aggressively in a grocery store in the Sendling district of Munich.

The suspect, 31 years old, was killed on Monday shortly after 18:00 local time.

She died of her injuries at the scene.

Officers are said to have first encountered the woman in a supermarket on Implerstrasse before first using pepper spray.

It is not clear how many police officers shot at her.

Photos from the scene show police officers and a marked vehicle in front of the store.

The Munich homicide department and the Bavarian State Criminal Police are now investigating the use of firearms, reports BR24.

A police spokesman said the collection of evidence at the store was continuing.

The street outside the supermarket was closed following the incident before reopening later on Monday evening.
