A WOMAN in her 20s was found dead near a children’s playground as police arrested two men.

Emergency services were called to Gorton Street in Ashton-under-Lyne, Blackpool, at around 9.30am yesterday.

The woman’s death is being treated as “unexpected” but “not suspicious”.

Lancashire Police have now arrested two men, both in their 60s, on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs.

A police spokesman said: “Emergency services were called to Gorton Street, Blackpool at around 9.30am on Thursday, August 15 following reports of a sudden death.

“The police came and unfortunately found the body of a woman in her 20s.

“The death is being treated as unexpected and is under investigation but is not being treated as suspicious at this time.

“Two men in their 60s have been arrested on suspicion of supplying a controlled drug. Inquiries are continuing.”
