Because the girl Justin Bieber tried to return to her first big music video was a wild ride for Jasmine Villegas.
Villegas was a singer and actress herself when she was given the opportunity to be in a music video.
“I had about 16, 17. I was already doing music, but at the time I was signed for Sony Epic and I was recording all that,” he recalls in a recent conversation with People. “At the time I had the idea of who he was because I saw YouTube videos. When I first offered the video, I just didn’t put together two and two together.”
Villegas was offered a role after the video designer/photographer she worked with was mentioned that a place was open on the project.
“He got us attention like, ‘Hey, I showed them your picture, and they want you to be in a” baby “video, his musical video. “And I said, ‘Oh, God, that’s so great.’ ”

Villegas was excited to play the main girlfriend in the music video, noting, “It was my first time I was in a musical video that wasn’t mine.”
The team was filming a clip during the week on January 25, 2010. At Universal Citywalk and Lucky Strike Lane in Los Angeles.
“It was all day, from early morning to late into the night,” she remembers. “There were so many people there. If you are watching a video, there are so many dancers and artists. There was never a boring moment. It was certainly a long, time -consuming process, but there were only so many people in that video and through time there we just hung out.”
The “Baby” video premiered exclusively on the veil on Friday, February 19, 2010.
“It was pretty amazing,” he recalls. “Everyone quickly knew who he was and looking at himself in the video and watching it online and on TV, that was such an honor.”
There was some aversion to Villegas, based on the fact that Bieber works so hard to win it in the video, while it avoids its progress.
“I didn’t have too much love than his fans,” he admits. “I didn’t like it a lot. There were a lot of internet harassment for a while. Many people couldn’t distinguish between acting and that’s real life.”
“Many girls thought I was really pushing him, hurting him,” she continues. “That kind of type came in in a tour we continued after a music video. While I was performing, I rejected a lot.”
While the experience “had its moments”, Villegas says he doesn’t complain about that. Two to three months of tour and the video exposure introduced her with many fans.
“We started in Canada and then went to Hawaii and then rested a little after the holiday before the tour everywhere else. Most of my fans’s bases are excluded from a music video and be in the video and set off on a tour. There are positive. And negativity, but All in all, that was such a great experience. ”
After the tour ended, Villegas would “see Bieber around Los Angeles very randomly.
“I no longer live in Los Angeles, but when I did it, we had mutual friends. I ran into him several times here and there, before I had children.”
Villegas is a mom of two children today and says she feels “like such a cool mom, the sweetest mom on Earth” whenever the video appears.
“My daughter had no idea at first. She heard a song on Tiktoc videos and the like, but she didn’t see the video. And she would start singing her when she was younger, and I would think, ‘Oh, my God, this girl has no idea she will Bomb immediately leave her, “” she says with a laugh.
“One day, I showed her and she said, ‘Mom, are you? “That was a few years ago, but in the end I posted the video how he reacted that I was me,” Villegas says. “So many people marked Justin in him and he commented. It was so sweet. And her little heart, she was so excited.”
Now that her daughter is – who accidentally turns on February 9th – a cheerleader, she likes to share a fun fact with friends when the song comes in in competitions. Villegas recently recorded one such moment, sharing a video on Tictok.
“When she saw a video or heard a song somewhere, she already told all her friends like,” My mom is in the video. “”
Moments like these “moments of full circle” for Villegas. “I thought she was as sweet as she felt about it. She definitely brought me some cool mom’s points.”
Villegas says Bieber’s fans have even come now that everyone is a little more mature.
“We are all adults together. It’s so funny, because I meet a lot of people in general and they are like, ‘My God, I hated you, but now I love you. You’re so cute. “And I’m like,” Oh, thank you a lot, “she joked.
“Many of them were girls at the time. I was younger too, but there were many younger than me. So now that we are all older, it’s the usual soil like: ‘Oh, my God, I’m used to you hate, but you are so cool.
Villegas still regularly recognizes his role in the video. She calls it “humiliating experience.”
“I always tell people, this is one of the reasons why people know me and listen to my music and follow me to this day. So, I am always very appreciated and grateful. I wish I could live that day again,” she divides.
If she had been given the opportunity to work with Bieber again, Villegas says she would do so heartbeat.
“Absolutely. I’m so happy about him and how his life turns out to him – his marriage and a child and all those great things. It would be great to work together again.”
