World Students Day 2023: The day is observed on October 15 in honor of former President and Rocket Man of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. He was born on October 15, 1931. Therefore, World Students’ Day is celebrated on October 15 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was the 11th President of India (2002-2007). As a politician, he was a scientist and professor. He played a key role in the Pokhran-II nuclear tests in 1998 and thus earned the title of ‘India’s Rocket Man’. On July 27, 2015, he suffered a cardiac arrest while giving a lecture to the students of IIM Shillong.

The United Nations Organization (UNO) declared October 15 as World Students’ Day 2010 in honor of the efforts of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s role in teaching and his dedication cannot be explained in words. He always identified himself as a teacher. While he was teaching only at the Shillong IIM college, he had a cardiac arrest. This showed his dedication to teaching. In 2006, in the President’s speech at the awarding of the State Prize for Teachers, he said that “Teachers must understand that they are the builders of society. A good society can be built when students have knowledge and are skilled in their own. They must also provide students with a vision of life and instill the fundamentals values ​​that should be practiced in the years to come.”

About Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam

He was born on 15 October 1931 in Dhanushkodi, Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, India. His full name was Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam. In 2002, he was elected as the President of India, and before becoming the President, he worked with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) as an aerospace engineer.

He started his career as a scientist at the Aeronautical Development Establishment of the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). He also worked as the Project Director of India’s first Satellite Launch Vehicle (SLV-III) at ISRO.

Do you know that after his important role in the Pokhran Test? dr. APJ Abdul Kalam visited Switzerland in 2005 after which the country declared May 26 as ‘Science Day’ to honor and respect his visit.
