Yana also calls herself the first Kashmiri vlogger. She is a journalist.

Yana was addressing the Sankalp Divas event held by the Jammu and Kashmir Study Center UK at the British Parliament building. She thanked the Kashmir BJP Media Officer Sajid Yousuf Shah and revealed how Yana came up with the comparison with Malala Yousafzai.

“Thank you, Sajid, for pushing me to come here when I was depressed after we lost my dad. I wouldn’t have gotten here if it wasn’t for you. Also, this Malala theory was given to me by my sister. Therefore, a man is nothing without the support of his family.”

Yana Mir is a journalist, social activist and vlogger. She is known as a fearless and outspoken advocate for the people of Kashmir. She works as the Editor-in-Chief of The Real Kashmir News, a digital media platform that covers the reality of the region.

Yana Mir is also the vice-president of the Jammu & Kashmir Youth Society, an organization working to empower youth and women in the valley.
