In December 2023, an online dispute broke out between Yanika’s husband Vivek Bindra and Sandeep Maheshwari, a famous Indian motivational speaker, and a video was posted online Going viral, the video reportedly shows Vivek beating his wife Yanika. On December 7, 2023, a day after their wedding, Vivek allegedly got into an argument with his mother Prabha when Yanika tried to calm the situation; however, Vivek took Yanika to After being locked in the room, Ka verbally and physically assaulted her and broke her phone. Yanika’s brother Vaibhav Kwatra filed an FIR with the Noida Sector 126 police station on December 14, 2023, claiming that Yanika suffered injuries all over her body and her earlobes were damaged, rendering her unable to hear.

The FIR was lodged under sections 323 (causing hurt), 504 (insult inciting breach of peace), 325 (intentionally causing grievous hurt) and 427 (mischief) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Yanika was subsequently taken to Kailash Deepak Hospital in Delhi for treatment. Noida Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajneesh Verma said they would conduct a comprehensive investigation before taking any action.
