While fans can’t wait to get their Yellowstone fix, the series is on hold for now. In July, Luke told PEOPLE Magazine: “We didn’t [started filming the second half of season 5] due to the writers’ strike. I think we would be if it weren’t for that. The actor, who is currently divorcing his wife Christine Baumgartner, 49, has indicated in court documents obtained by MailOnline that he will not be returning to the Yellowstone set for production.

According to the publication, the legal documents – which deal with the finer details of their divorce – state that Costner will instead spend time in California with his children until the end of 2023.

“Love and family and serving your tribe, your people – that’s a big theme in the show,” he began. “With Kayce, it’s hard for him to choose his relationship with his father versus his relationship with his wife and son.
