In her TikTok video, Maya (@yamz.please) showed viewers a shot of her living room.
The TikToker challenged her audience to find the cat in the scene in less than 15 seconds.
In the picture, Maya’s black and white couch is clearly visible to the left of her door.
In the foreground is a plastic storage box full of Walmart shopping bags.
In the corner of the room between the wall and the closed door is a shadow.
In the clip’s title, Maya admitted that it was a “hard edition” of the hidden cat challenge.
In another video, the influencer showed her followers which cat she was talking about.
The completely black appearance of the cat led many viewers to a dark shadow in the room.
Barely visible in the corner of the room is Maya’s cat lounging in the shadow of the door.
TikTok users opened up the comments section to share their thoughts on the illusion.
“That black cat in front of the door,” wrote one viewer.
Another follower said: “I failed, I’ve watched this a good six times.”
“I’ve been staring too long. I can’t find it,” commented a third.
