The user posted a photo of a tree bark and wrote: “Find the moth.”
Some users were quick to spot the light-loving insect, but others had a hard time finding it.
One user bragged: “I found it right away without going near it.”
Another liked a photo of a hard-to-find moth: “I’m really impressed and grateful for the high quality of this image!
“I enjoyed the search (and the moth is super cute).”
Another found the search easy: “Where it always is.
“Very easy.”
The moth appears to be a peppered moth, native to the Northern Hemisphere in places like Asia, Europe, and North America.
This type of moth has an interesting story behind its unusual pattern.
The moth changed its original white color to a mottled “pepper” pattern after the Industrial Revolution.
According to experts, it is believed that the evolution was camouflaged by the polluted and sooty buildings in which it would try to hide.
Another photo of a snowy forest field has gone viral because it hides an animal that most couldn’t see at first glance.
Some branches and a rock can be seen in the bright image, but social media users were left confused as they struggled to find the hidden bird.
TikTok user Hectic Nick said: “This image is not what you think it is.
“It looks like an empty snowfield right now, but I bet you didn’t notice the hidden bird!”
One said: “POV: look for an answer in the comments.”
