You'll Never Guess Where Donnie Wahlberg's Mom Kept the Rattail He Cut Off During His New Kids on the Block Days

Donnie Wahlberg has a special memory from his ’90s boy band days.

During the conversation with Party tonightThe 55-year-old actor revealed that his mom kept his rattail from New Kids on the Block days after he chopped it off.

“He’s probably got a little less hair than me there,” Donnie said in an interview shared on Dec. 15. The video shows a clip of him from 1990. “But I still wore hats and scarves. No more rat tails. My mom actually kept the rat tail when I finally cut it off, she put it in a Ziploc bag and kept it.”

Donnie also said he still has his nose pierced, but “it doesn’t show, thank God.”

“They probably wouldn’t throw me away Blue Bloods“, he joked.

The star went on to refer back to his previous “bad boy” image.

“Everybody thinks the New Kids were made for me to be a bad boy,” he said of the group, which formed in 1984. “We were just who we were. There’s no guidebook on how to become famous at 18, 19, with social networks, I don’t know what it would be like to be a child or a young person who is now becoming famous.”

Donnie may have given up his haircut, but his schedule remains non-stop to this day.

As a result, the star, who has nine siblings including Mark Wahlberg, admitted in a recent interview with Diversity that he should better prioritize time with his siblings.

“It’s not that I’m not devoted to my family, but I live in a different state than my brothers and sisters,” Band of Brothers said the actor. “I think when you come from a big family you can stay close, but my career has taken me all over the world, and it still does.”

Donnie continued, “My sister always calls and says, ‘Come on, mom’s gone now, let’s all fly to Boston and celebrate Thanksgiving.’ Many times I say: ‘The flight is long. I was flying back and forth, recording and going on tour. I just want to sit at home, light the fireplace and be with my wife and dogs.’ ”

Then he remarked, “Maybe I should hop on a plane and spend a little more of those opportunities with my siblings and encourage Mark [Wahlberg] get on a plane and do the same.”Donnie and Mark, 53, are the eighth and ninth siblings, after Michelle, Arthur, Paul, Jim, Robert, Tracey and Debbie, who died in 2003 aged 43.
