Young and the Restless Alum Jordi Vilasuso Asks for ‘Prayers’ as Daughter Is Admitted to NICU

Young and restless alum Jordi Vilasuso is asking for prayers for his youngest daughter.

The actor, 42, who announced the birth of his third daughter at 35 weeks in December with wife Kaitlin, 37, revealed on Thursday that his daughter Lucy had been admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) with a “partial collapse of the right lung. ”

“Ah friends.. we come to you longing for your prayers once again,” Jordi and Kaitlin wrote in a joint caption while sharing a photo of their daughter in the hospital. “I feel like I’m asking you all for prayers or thanking you for your prayers.. I guess that’s just the season we’re in right now.”

In the first photo, Lucy is wrapped in a blanket with tubes connected to her nose and mouth. Another slide shows Lucy lying in a cradle with wires connected to various medical equipment and a patient monitor.

“We found out on Monday that Lucy had RSV and by Monday night she was admitted to the hospital with breathing difficulties,” the parents added. “Last night things took an unexpected turn for the worse and she was moved to the NICU with what doctors described as a partially collapsed right lung. I’m still struggling to believe it as I type.”

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is an infection of the lungs and respiratory tract, according to the Mayo Clinic. The disease is common in children under the age of 2, and babies under the age of 12 months are at risk of developing severe infections. It can also affect adults and older children in the form of mild cold-like symptoms.
