Young Sheldon Sets Its Series Finale Date — Find Out When the Big Bang Spinoff Takes Its Final Bow

Young SheldonCBS prequel spinoff of the hit series Big Bang Theoryends after seven seasons on the air.

The series, which will premiere its seventh and final season on Thursday, February 15, will conclude with a one-hour series finale on Thursday, May 16, according to a statement from the network.

“Being able to tell the origin of Sheldon Cooper and expand the story to include the entire Cooper family was a wonderful experience,” executive producers Steve Holland, Steven Molaro and Chuck Lorre said in a joint statement. “We are grateful to our fans for embracing this chapter of the Coopers over the past six seasons, and on behalf of the whole Young Sheldon family, we are excited to share this final season with you.”

In a separate statement, Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, said of the news: “As a prequel to one of the greatest comedies ever, Young Sheldon proved that lightning can strike twice. It featured an extraordinary cast that felt like family from the first moment we saw them on screen and brought the characters to life with unique, heartfelt stories that captivated audiences from the start. Our sincere thanks to executive producers Chuck Lorre, Steve Molar and Steve Holland and the entire writing and production team for six wonderful seasons. We look forward to seeing how their final season unfolds and to cap it off with the best episodes yet for their fans to enjoy.”

Young Sheldon coming up Big bang the life of Sheldon Cooper’s character as a 9-year-old child prodigy who lives with his family and attends high school in Texas.

The series stars Iain Armitage in the title role and also features Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Annie Potts, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord and Jim Parsons, who played Sheldon Cooper in Big Bang Theoryas the voice of Sheldon.

During the sixth season, fans of the series were torn about theories that the story would come to an end. In particular, fans raised eyebrows after Sheldon developed a program to catalog all available college scholarships, suggesting it was time for him to leave Texas — and move to Pasadena, California, where Big bang takes place — it would be inevitable.

After the premiere in 2017. Young Sheldon folded The Big Bang Theory in two years as the hit sitcom dropped in 2019. During its run, the spinoff was consistently the top comedy on television.

In addition to voicing Sheldon on the show, Parsons also serves as an executive producer.
