Iain Armitage would love to come back Big little lies.
In the episode of May 16 Living with Kelly and MarkThe 15-year-old actor told hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos that he would be “honored” to reprise his role as Ziggy Chapman, the son of Jane Chapman (Shailene Woodley), in a potential third season of the show.
After Ripa, 53, showed Armitage a photo of himself from the HBO drama, The Young Sheldon star noted, “I think I just turned 7 there. That’s crazy. I like that hairstyle, I think I could pull it off. Should I cut it off?”
“I haven’t heard anything completely official yet, but when incredibly intelligent people like our leading ladies start talking, I think it’s pretty hard not to listen,” he continued, praising Woodley, Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern and Zoë Kravitz. “It would be an honor to return.”

In November 2023, Kidman, 56, seemingly confirmed a third installment of the hit limited series.
“I loved it Big little lies because it kind of happened at a point in my life when I had kids and I was thinking about retiring, and then this situation came along, where Reese Witherspoon and I were able to produce that show. And then you all watched it and it was a huge success,” she said during an undisclosed fan event. “We’ll bring you a third, just for your information.”

All five main actresses have expressed interest in returning for the third season. During a video chat with Dern, 57, Witherspoon, 48, said, “We want to do it.” However Legal blonde star stated that they are “trying to come up with the right story” before moving forward with the show.
In an interview with December 2023 Harper’s BazaarWoodley, 32, teased that the third season could bring back the child actors who played the children, now grown up.
“What’s exciting about the possibility of a third season. What does the life of those people who are no longer children look like?” she said about the potential storylines of the third season.

Before Armitage can explore new avenues for his own Big little lies character, will soon finish his duty as the main protagonist Young Sheldon. Ahead of the CBS series’ final season, the actor spoke with PEOPLE about the sitcom coming to an end.

“It’s been half my life, it’s kind of wild to think about it, but it’s just so much fun, so wonderful, and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to grow up,” he told PEOPLE exclusively. “Every single person that I work with I feel so honored to work with and be their costar or … be a part of their business and a part of their livelihood.”
