Most of the signs can be found in the Road Traffic Act, but a small selection have no basis in reality.

The original items include signs warning of road closures, lane narrowing and roundabouts.

There are also the commonly known symbols of speed limit, no entry and one-way system.

However, look a little closer and you’ll see that some are a little funnier.

All four cheats are the same type of sign, an image on a white background surrounded by a red circle.

According to current rules, this form of signaling prohibits certain vehicles from entering a certain area.

For example, some of the real signs in the picture prohibit the passage of motorcycles, cars or heavy trucks.

But weirder examples include pictures of surfers, skateboarders, elephants and even kangaroos.

It is very unlikely that a herd of elephants would run amok on a dual carriageway, and even if they did, they would be even less likely to respect the road markings.

As such, these are clearly false signs – but have you spotted them?

If not, you can see the answers below.

It comes after another brain teaser was released, with drivers racking their brains to figure out why a set of four identical cars looked completely different from each other.
