His wife noticed that he was being followed by some terrorists. As soon as he entered the house, his wife asked him to hide in a barrel of rice in the attic. As expected, terrorists broke into their home and killed Ganjoo. According to reports, the militants initially could not find Ganjoo at his home, so they decided to leave the home; however, one of Ganjoo’s neighbors told them where he was hiding. The militants searched the house again for him and reached the attic, where they shot Ganju dead while he was still hiding in a rice bucket. There are two legends about this matter. BK Ganjoo’s wife Vijay Ganjoo asked militants to kill her too after her husband was brutally shot dead, according to a source: However, the militants told her they would let her go and let her cry beside her husband’s body . Another legend is that Ganzhu’s body was lying on rice, and the blood-stained rice was force-fed to his wife and children. In a similar story, the terrorist was said to have said as he was leaving his home:
Let the rice soak in your blood and let your children eat it. Ah, what a delicious meal that would be. “
Contrary to these two legends, media reports suggest that the actual event was far less atmospheric.
