Zac Brown has filed for a temporary restraining order against his estranged wife Kelly Yazdi after she made a series of Instagram posts, including one that appeared to accuse him of “narcissistic abuse.”
Brown, 45, filed for a temporary restraining order against Yazdi — which would force her to remove the post if granted — on Friday, May 17, in Fulton County, Georgia.
The Zac Brown Band singer claimed Yazdi, 33, was in violation of an August 2022 employee and nondisclosure agreement.
“After much consideration, I have taken the steps necessary to implement an agreement between us to keep personal and business matters confidential and to protect my family from online harassment and speculation,” Brown told PEOPLE in a statement. “My only hope is that we keep private matters private and move forward with the mutual respect we agreed to show each other when we parted.”
As part of the temporary restraining order, Yazdi would be forced to delete the Instagram post. In her May 4 post, Yazdi — a former Zac Brown Band employee from August 2022 to February 2024 — includes a caption that appears to refer to her relationship with Brown.

The post also said that the person – referred to only as “he” – instructed her to “no longer model,” not to remove photos from her Instagram, only to wear certain clothes, and to “no longer post fitness videos.” “Projections. Gaslighting. Threatening,” Yazdi wrote in the post. “These are the ingredients of narcissistic abuse.”
Court documents filed by Brown’s attorneys and obtained by PEOPLE say Yazdi “took it upon herself to retaliate against Mr. Brown” and his company, and also asked not to “[make] any public statement or disclosure of any confidential or private information in violation of the terms of Ms. Yazdi’s Employee and Confidentiality Agreement.”
The documents also ask Yazdi not to “[make] any defamatory, false, untrue or otherwise harmful statements regarding … Mr. Brown and his family, and the Zac Brown Band and any of its members or members of their families.”
Yazdi did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Brown and Yazdi first announced they were divorcing in December 2023 — four months after tying the knot in a ceremony in Georgia — telling TMZ in a statement at the time, “We are in the process of divorcing.”

“Our mutual respect remains. We wish each other the best and will always cherish our time together,” the couple said. “While we deal with this personal matter, we simply ask for privacy during this time.”
PEOPLE previously confirmed in December 2022 that the country star popped the question to the actress.
“He recently proposed in Hawaii,” a source told PEOPLE at the time. “It was very intimate and the couple kept it very private.”
The “Chicken Fried” singer was previously married to jewelry designer Shelly Brown. The couple, who have five children, announced their separation in October 2018 after 12 years of marriage.
