Zoe Ball is a British radio and television personality best known as the first host of the BBC’s Radio 1 Breakfast and The Radio 2 Breakfast Show. She also co-hosted children’s program Living & Kicking with Jamie Theakston from 1996 to 1999. The Blackpool native is also a budding dancer, having been in the third season of Strictly Come Dancing in 2005. From 2011 to 2021, she also presented the BBC Two spin- off program Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two. The British broadcaster hosted the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour in 2011 and 2015.

Zoe Ball has announced her departure from the Radio 2 Breakfast Show. The radio station, however, is not leaving the Breakfast Show forever. On January 29, the 52-year-old announced on Twitter that she had COVID-19 and would be taking a year off from hosting The Radio 2 Breakfast Show. Ball also informed fans that Vernon Kay will be filling in for her until she recovers from her illness. Vernon Kay, 49, also took to Twitter to announce that he will be taking over the Breakfast Show for a few mornings. He wished Zoe Ball a speedy recovery and encouraged fans to tune in at 6:30am. Vernon Kay appeared on the Breakfast Show on January 30th.
What about Zoe Ball? Disease and Health Update
British radio personality Zoe Ball is now on sick leave. However, after announcing that she was ill on January 29, the 52-year-old has not given any updates on her health. Ball is hopefully recovering from covid and is avoiding social media for now. She took over as host of The Radio 2 Breakfast Show on 14 January 2019, when Chris Evans left the show after nine years.
After that, Ball was replaced by Rylan Clark in the Sunday afternoon slot. Ball has run the program continuously for almost four years and just took a break due to covid. When her health improves, she is expected to return to The Breakfast Show.

Zoe Ball was born on November 23, 1970 in Blackpool, Lancashire, England to parents Johnny Ball and Julia née Anderson. Johnny Ball, her father, is a television presenter and popularizer of mathematics. He often performed mathematical and trick exhibitions. When Zoe was two years old, Johnny and Julia divorced. He is married to his current wife, Diane, and they live in Bolton. Zoe Ball is married to Fatboy Slim (real name Norman Cook), a famous DJ and artist.
The couple met while working at BBC Radio 1 and married in August 1999 at Babington House in Somerset. The couple divorced in 2003 when Zoe revealed she had been having an affair; however, the couple eventually reunited. Zoe and Norman have two children: a boy, Woody Fred Cook, born in 2000, and a daughter, Nelly Cook, born in 2010. However, in September 2016, the couple announced their separation and divorce. Zoe Ball met her current boyfriend, Michael Reed, through a mutual acquaintance in 2017. Reed is a model, but also a carpenter.
