An illegal license for a bar in Goa
On July 23, Zoish sparked controversy when some INC leaders accused him of running bars illegally in Goa. They claimed she obtained a pub license in the deceased’s name. They even demanded the resignation of Zoish’s mother, Union Minister Smriti Irani. Addressing a press conference, Smriti Irani said the Congressional charges against her daughter were aimed at assassinating her daughter’s character. Smriti also claimed that Zoish is an 18-year-old college student and does not run a bar. She further added,
The accusations against my daughter of running an illegal bar are malicious and aimed not only at assassinating her character but also at politically defaming me.Gandhi family directs this press conference [by Congress] If anyone targets my children, let me tell you, let Rahul Gandhi go back and contest the Lok Sabha elections from Amisi in 2024, he will fail again. This is my commitment as a PPP worker and the mother of that 18-year-old child. I will see them in court. ”
The controversy started when a video of Zoish interacting with food critic Kunal Vijayakar on his show Khane Mein Kya Hai went viral on Twitter. In the video, she told Kunal that she is the owner of Soul Bar and Cafe in Goa.
Some BJP members shamelessly claimed that the bar owner is not ‘Tulsi’ ji’s daughter and this video is for them.
