Zooey Deschanel is marking a special milestone with her fiance Jonathan Scott!
The actress and singer, 44, shared a carousel of photos of the HGTV star, 46, on Instagram on Sunday, Aug. 11, in honor of the fifth anniversary of their first date.
“5 years ago today I was lucky enough to go on my first date with the person of my dreams,” Deschanel captioned the post. “Here we are and he still makes me laugh every day. 😍.”
Scott is featured in each photo, posing with New girl alum’s children, Elsie Otter and Charlie Wolf, in some shots, and Deschanel himself in others.

The couple — who met in 2019 while filming an episode of James Corden Carpool Karaoke — shared a meal in many photos. Scott was caught mid-snack eating chocolate in one hilarious moment on set.
Deschanel and Scott got engaged in August 2023 during a trip to Scotland about four years after their first date, which they later told PEOPLE included an escape room, karaoke and wine.
“I’d never actually done an escape room, and he kept telling me how much he liked them,” Deschanel recalled. “It sounded really good and I liked it straight away. I mean, I wasn’t very good at the first one, to be honest, but I got pretty good at it.”

“I thought, ‘Oh my God. He sent me the itinerary. This is like my dream,’ she added.
However, the wine arrived before the escape room, which the couple did not recommend. “Tipsy escape rooming isn’t very successful,” Scott admitted.

Deschanel keeps Elsie, 9, and Charlie, 7 — who she shares with ex-husband Jacob Pechenik — mostly out of the public eye (their faces are not visible in social media photos) — but Scott shared some insight into his relationship with them in an interview PEOPLE for Father’s Day 2023.
“One thing that was a pain in the beginning was that the kids didn’t necessarily run and jump into my arms and give me a big hug,” Property Brothers said the star.
“I also remember a few times where they’d be out with other kids and someone would say, ‘Oh, your dad is so funny,’ and they’d say, ‘That’s not my dad, he’s my Jonathan.’ So that would hurt a little bit,” he continued.
