Police reports state that the 12 people who died in the accident were family members traveling in a mini truck from Gwalior to Tikamgarh to attend a wedding. After learning of the tragic accident, the Minister of State for Home, Narottam Mishra, confirmed that the rescue operation had started. The reported fatal accident occurred Tuesday when a pickup truck suddenly crashed into a bridge that was under construction. After crashing into the bridge under construction, the mini truck with about 15 people in it fell into the Buhra river, which was flooding its banks at the time. After falling into the swollen river, three people disappeared, while 12 were found dead. Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra has ordered officials to provide all possible assistance to the victims’ homes as several people are missing and 12 have died.
