90 Day: Sarper Reveals a Long-Lost Child as Kenny and Armando’s ‘Emotional’ Bond with Their Surrogate Grows

It’s time for babies 90 Day Fiancé: Another way!

Monday night’s episode featured plenty of baby talk — from parenting arguments to gender reveal. Although children were the common thread of the episode, some TLC stars had very different views on children. While Shekinah and Sarper debated whether there was room for children in their relationship, Kenny and Armando were in the process of choosing the right surrogate to welcome into their family.

Here’s what each couple decided at the end of the episode.

Shekinah and Sarper

Shekinah was clear about one thing – she does not want another child. She has a 15-year-old at home and decided years ago that she was done with raising children. Sarper had known this since they started their relationship, but things seemed to have changed for him.

“It’s always on my mind to talk about the issue of the Shekinah child,” he said before the cameras. “But I was waiting for the right moment. I didn’t expect that he would be asking her such questions soon. Of course I want a child of my own.”

In a heated, heart-to-heart conversation, Shekinah reminded Sarper that she expressed her desire to not have children early on. “Oh my God, you are so against everything. You transfer all your genetics, all your money, everything you have to him or her and it goes like this,” he told his girlfriend.

He later explained in an interview that Shekinah not wanting children with him was an insult to their love. “If you love someone, especially in a relationship, you want a child from him or her. I mean, it’s that simple. We have to plan something for the future.”

Shekinah remained steadfast in her position. “Sarper must understand what is more important to him. Does she want to have a child or does she want to be with me?” she asked. “I was very honest with Sarper when I first met him that he didn’t want to have more children. So it’s frustrating that now that I’ve moved here to Turkey to be with him, he’s kind of changing things on me.”

Earlier in the episode, Sarper revealed that he has a secret child who will be around 25 years old – and who he has never met. He had a one-night stand at the age of 18 and found out via e-mail that the woman was pregnant. Due to his age and fear, Sarper deleted the email and all contact information of his baby’s mother. Now in his 40s, he searched for his long-lost son with only his mother’s name in mind.

All was well for Brandan and Mary on Monday’s episode.

The couple spent time bonding with Brandan’s mother, who tried to adjust to the new culture and warm to her new daughter-in-law. “In order to get back on good terms with me, you need to bond with Mary,” Brandan told her. “If all three of us are not doing well, there will be parts of our child’s life where I will miss you. And I don’t want that. You know, like Mary didn’t have her mom. She never had the type of person to give her guidance and be like, you have to get back to her.”

Mom took this encouragement and told Brandan, “I’m going to try to build a healthy relationship with Mary and I appreciate that you’re willing to give me the opportunity to be your mom even though you’re in a position to be a dad.”

In the interview, she admitted that she still harbors skepticism. “As for Mary and the toxicity, the jealousy, I can let it go as long as I see an effort to improve. If her actions and behavior continued to reflect the same patterns she had in the past, we would have a big problem.”

Day 90: Brandan gets a ‘reality check’ from Mary

This did not stop her from genuinely seeking support for the couple. The mother facilitated the gender reveal for Brandan and Mary, giving them some relationship advice along the way. She strongly encouraged both Mary and Brandan to seek individual therapy for their unresolved trauma, promising that it would strengthen their relationship.

“You come from, in my opinion, a dysfunctional environment,” Mary said before indicating her own son. “You also come from a dysfunctional family. As much as I know you love each other, it’s not enough. Because when you haven’t dealt with all the things you learned growing up, it just becomes this repetitive pattern.”

Mary replied respectfully. “We’re trying to be better as a couple. Me too, I’m trying to be better myself because even now I still think too much and I can’t stand it because my parents left me and I’m really scared [being] abandoned.”

While crying, Marija thanked her future mother-in-law for her advice. “I’m willing and I’m also really grateful that you give us advice and it helps me a lot, you know and it comes from Brendan’s mum. It really means a lot to me. Nobody’s [done] that to me before.”

Finally it was time to reveal the gender, they found out that their baby will be a girl. Brandan won the pair’s bet, which meant he would smash the pie in Mary’s face. A sweet moment for all family members could go down as one of the happiest moments ever for Mary and Brandan.

Holly is done trying to live in South Africa.

She hit the end of her rope during the blackout and told Wayne she was moving back to America, and he asked her, “Can you, like, give some more time in South Africa just to, like, adjust?”

Holly told him bluntly, “No. It breaks my spirit. Slowly I just tear myself away, and here I become nothing. I can’t do this anymore. I have to go.”

She invited her new husband to come back to the US with her – but Wayne couldn’t give her an answer as he weighed the reality of what he had left behind, including his job and his father.

Earlier in the episode, Wayne questioned Holly’s new self-care tactic — the mermaid tail. “I’ve always loved mermaids and always thought it would be fun to be one,” she said. “I just think it’s cool that there’s this whole fictional world under the sea and we have a pool.”

Wayne didn’t quite get her reasoning, but encouraged Holly to make friends to find more joy, telling her, “You’re not trying hard enough.”

Holly responded with a cry for help. “I’m depressed. I’m sad and like everyone has a breaking point. I don’t know how much more I can take,” she said. But Wayne saw their relationship through the commitment in the exchanged vows. “You certainly chose this life, you know what I’m saying — with me. And we have to do it here.”

Kenny and Armando were one step closer to welcoming a new family member – or two!

The couple continued their surrogacy journey by forming an emotional bond with Emma, ​​the woman who could carry their child. She met them for lunch and explained why she chose to be a surrogate despite the stigma and emotional stress.

“When I talk to my sister, she tells me that you are crazy. How are you going to give birth without feeling anything?” she said. “And I said, ‘No, I’m going to feel something.’ Yes, but I did [also] completely [clear] in my head that it won’t be mine. It’s like a gift I’m going to give you, to have your own family.”

This made both Kenny and Armand tender. “You know what makes me emotional is, I guess, really just because Hannah lost her mother,” Armando replied. “It feels good to give him love, you know, to do all the things a mother does.”

He also made it clear in the interview that Emma, ​​or any surrogate, will have a place in the family for life. “I think if we choose Emma,” Armando said, “I imagine in our future she will be part of our family after the baby is born.”

Kenny had similar thoughts, noting: “I like emotional people and I have a feeling that she really knows it’s going to be difficult and wants to do well with us. What a beautiful thing, isn’t it?”

By the end of lunch, all three were crying and expressing their love for each other. Kenny and Armando still had to think through the process – but it looked like Emma might be just what they were looking for.
