90 Day’s Jen and Rishi Clashed Over Kids Prior to Split and His Whirlwind Wedding to a New Love

Jen Boucher and Rishi Singh were not on the same page Diaries of 90 days — months before they broke up for good.

Update on the previous one 90 Day Fiancé: Another way the pair showed Jen, 47, still firm in her stance that they are not engaged, while Rishi still sees a future. The “did/didn’t” couple took to Zoom on camera to iron out some of the details of their relationship.

“I don’t think we’re engaged until your family fully accepts us,” Jen told her friend Randi.

In real time, Jen and Rishi are no longer together. Rishi just married his second wife, Maria Ramirez, in February. PEOPLE confirmed that the multi-day celebration took place in India less than two weeks after Rishi made his new relationship official on Instagram.

Monday’s episode Diaries spinoff gave some insight into their conversations before the split. Jen told her (long skeptical) friend that she was thinking about going back to India. The reason would not be to marry Rishi immediately, but to start IVF treatments so that they can begin their parenthood journey.

“I can’t believe I’m even entertaining this,” Jen said, admitting she was afraid to tell Randi the current plan.

Jen wasn’t even sure she wanted a biological child, admitting, “I’ve always wanted to adopt.” And besides, she was still not ready to marry Rishi. The decision was in the hands of his parents, who still did not want to accept Jen into their family because of her age.

That was Rishi’s main focus when the long-distance couple talked on Zoom. “I get the feeling from you that you really want to have your own child,” Jen said.

Rishi confirmed that this was the case.

“So please be honest with me and tell me, if I say I don’t want to have a biological child, is that a deal breaker for you? After all, if you’re always going to resent me, I need to know. Because I don’t think I want to have a child, honestly. I don’t think what I’m doing to my body is a good idea at this point in my life,” Jen asked.

Rishi focused on what he wanted for them. “I just want you with me basically, all my life,” he replied.

His next step was to talk to his mom again to see if he could get her approval for their relationship.

Fans will recall that Rishi’s family never accepted Jen, fearing that at 47 she was too old for their 33-year-old son. In fact, Jen previously called Rishi “completely delusional” for thinking he would be able to change his family’s mind, all the while, knowing he was expected to live in their shared family home.

“But I really hope Rishi makes it so we can stay together because I love him and I want to marry him,” she added.

As their segment on Diaries of 90 days finishing, Jen admitted that she was “not really convinced” that Rishi would actually have such a difficult conversation with his mom, leaving their love in limbo once again. Given the state of their relationship and Rishi’s decision to move on, it seems Jen was right.
