Christian Wood needs no introduction in the NBA. He is currently a member of the Houston Rockets and wants to be an All-Star. Much has been said and written about his NBA career, but little is known about his personal life, including whether or not he has a girlfriend.
According to rumors, the NBA superstar started playing basketball for Findlay Prep in high school. At Findlay, he helped the Pilots win 54 straight games and the 2012 ESPN National High School Invitational. In 2013, Rivals ranked him the No. 36 player, while Scout ranked him No. 10 at his position and ESPN ranked him the No. 71 perspectives in total.
Wood then went to UNLV, where he played for the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels men’s basketball team from 2013 to 2015. Wood was named first team All-Mountain West and declared for the 2015 NBA Draft. Anyone who has followed his profession is aware that facts, but what about his love life?
Who is Christian Wood Dating?
It is not known who the athlete is currently seeing, but he was previously in a relationship with reality personality Maya Benberry. Wood’s ex-girlfriend rose to fame after appearing on Catching Kelce, a Bachelor-style reality show where she was given the opportunity to date NFL player Travis Kelce. Unfortunately, their romance did not work out, and the reality star eventually admitted that she had been cheated on. She then went on to Season 2 of MTV’s reality show Ex on the Beach, where she tried to start a new relationship with her ex-partner.
This failed again and soon Wood and Benberry were thought to be dating. When the couple’s relationship became public, it became a controversy. Benberry allegedly took Wood from her closest friend, according to sources. The reality actress, however, did not take the accusations lightly and defended herself on Instagram, which was reposted by Side Action. She said everything being said about her is a lie and begged Janelle Shanks, Bad Girls Club alumna and her friend from Ex on the Beach, to stop spreading these falsehoods.
Christian Wood’s girlfriend left him
While Benberry told her the truth, Wood remained silent and did not address the issue. And it seems that the romance ended too soon. It appears that Wood had a girlfriend before his relationship with Benberry. In the 2020 season, the athlete signed a three-year contract with the Houston Rockets worth $41 million. Afterwards, he spoke to The Ringer about his career and the terrible night in 2015.
The athlete was projected to be selected in the late first round of the 2015 NBA draft. His biggest worries came true when he went undrafted in the second round. He was passed over for recruitment, but the night took a turn for the worse when his girlfriend dumped him. Wood said he sent her to the airport after the mobilization and never saw her again.
