A photographer’s once-in-a-lifetime experience working with the legendary Friesian stallion

The equine photographer remembers hanging out with the Friesian stallion in her dreams. He also recalls the magical ripple effect images of stallions around the world.

The Friesian stallion was born and raised in Hastings, Michigan. Photographer Lori Ann Thwing, 52, recently lived in nearby Howard City.

She was the last person to photograph the legendary Friesian stallion of her dreams, Uldrik 457, before the stallion died.

Lori Ann said the legendary Friesian stallion in her dream was actually a breed legend. She was very happy to meet her and have the opportunity to photograph the stallion.

The legendary horse was 13 years old and was 16.1 hands (65 inches or 5.4 feet) tall when the photographer met it.

Unfortunately, he passed away on December 23, 2020, making their last photo session his.

When the owner saw the stallion, she bathed it and washed its luxurious coat.

He was standing in the laundry room with his mane almost touching the ground. The photographer literally froze in place and stared at him because he was simply gorgeous and unique with his shiny hair.

The stallion is a true work of art, and photographers were left in tears by the horse’s amazing appearance. She did her best to capture the lovely and majestic steed.
