A$AP Rocky Wants to Stay Out of Drake and Kendrick Lamar's Rap Beef: 'I Got Bigger Fish to Fry'

A$AP Rocky stays on track when it comes to rap drama.

For the latest Billboard cover story, the “Fashion Killa” rapper spoke to the team about the selection mainly avoid the ongoing feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake, despite seemingly bringing him up in several bars on his recent “Show of Hands” collaboration with Future and Metro Boomin.

“You have to understand that a certain n—– has been shooting for years. I’m not in the middle of that sh—,” A$AP Rocky, 35, told the paper. “I don’t fight back like that right now.”

“I’ve got bigger fish to fry than some p—- guys,” he continued. “There’s real beef out there. It’s real. N—– I’m getting really cut and close every day. N—– sniper attack n—– every day. That little kitty… it’s nothing.”

What’s Going On With Drake & Kendrick Lamar (And A Few Others): A Timeline Of Recent Diss

A$AP Rocky is also focusing on his new music, specifically his upcoming album Don’t be stupidwhich has been postponed. He shared in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Thursday, August 22 that “leaks and sample approvals are hindering the album,” and apologized to fans “for the wait.”

Drake and Lamar’s high-profile feud has played out on multiple diss tracks released in recent months, including the former’s “Push Ups,” “Taylor Made Freestyle” and “Family Matters.” Likewise, Lamar released his own diss tracks like “Euphoria,” “Meet the Grahams,” “6:16 in LA,” “Not Like Us” and a verse on Metro Boomin and Future’s “Like That.”

In Drake’s songs, he took shots at Lamar, 37, alleging domestic abuse by his longtime fiancee Whitney Alford, and also claimed that one of the “Humble” singer’s children is not his biological offspring. He also questioned his role as an activist, among other claims.

Lamar, on the other hand, called Drake a “pedophile” and a “colonizer” in his songs, while simultaneously questioning his relationships with family and culture at large.

Fellow rappers Latto and Ice Spice have also publicly shared their thoughts on the feud, with both having positive views.

“I’m not going to lie: I loved it! I liked the back and forth,” shared Latto s Billboard. “I thought it was healthy for the culture. I just felt nostalgic. I don’t think our generation had seen a rivalry like that at all. I was screwing with it.”

Meanwhile, said artist Ice Spice Rolling Stone she thought the beef was “really cool,” adding, “I’m a music fan. So I appreciate sports…”

A$AP Rocky’s Don’t be stupid the album should be released in the fall.
