For her latest red carpet look, Lauren Paul found a gem buried in her closet!
To attend the Academy Film Museum gala with husband Aaron Paul, Lauren, 37, brought out the dress she originally bought and wore to her rehearsal dinner more than a decade ago – pulling off the ultimate vintage makeover.
As the couple hit the red carpet together at an event in Los Angeles on Saturday (October 19), she dazzled in the dress, a floor-length black and white halter dress with floral, lace and net detailing.

To modernize it a bit, she opted for a glamorous, on-trend look, with a glossy, natural base and pink, glossy lips. She also slicked her hair back into a braid and accessorized with lots of glittering jewelry.

Aaron, meanwhile, completed her look – and let it shine – in an all-black ensemble, which he teamed with some subtle gold details, including a floral brooch and dainty chain. Unlike his wife, it seems that the 45-year-old actor did not recycle his wedding dress for the gala evening.
Lauren revealed the original reason she bought the dress the day after the gala in an Instagram Stories post on Sunday, October 20.

Along with a photo of the back of the dress, she wrote that the academy gala at the museum “was so beautiful and special, wow.”
“I decided to wear my evening dress for the rehearsal that had been sitting in my closet for 11 years,” she added. “Does that mean it’s vintage? 🙃.”
The director also shared a selfie that she apparently took with her Breaking Bad the actor’s beau before the gala evening, as well as the one she took with Nicole Richie on the red carpet.

As Lauren pointed out, her and Aaron’s night out in LA came more than 11 years after the longtime loves tied the knot in May 2013 at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, California.

The ceremony was held in front of 250 guests, including Aaron’s Breaking Bad costar Bryan Cranston, and Lauren wore an Amsale dress. And, as part of their Paris engagement – Aaron popped the question on a doorstep in the St. Germain on New Year’s Eve 2012 – the couple held a 1920s Paris carnival-themed reception.
“It was beautiful and so emotional,” Lauren previously told PEOPLE of the day. “The first moment I saw Aaron will forever be the most perfect visual of my life.”
The couple had two children: daughter Story Annabelle in 2018 and son Ryden Caspian in 2022.
