Acharya Prashant is an Indian writer and Vedanta teacher. He is famous for teaching seventeen Gita and sixty Upanishads. He is the founder of the non-profit organization ‘PrashantAdvait Foundation’.

Acharya Prashant started his career in 2003 as an Assistant Manager at GE Capital in Gurgaon. In 2004, he joined ECS Private Limited in Gurgaon as a Senior Consultant for over a year. The following year, he was appointed as a senior manager at the media company “Bennett Coleman and Co. Ltd” in New Delhi. After working there for a year, he resigned in October 2006.
Advait Life Education
In 2006, Acharya Prashant started a private limited company called “Advait Life Education” through which he launched “Life Education Courses” in various educational institutions located in different cities and states. He also introduced the Student Development Program (SDP) and Management Development Program (MDP) to the students. In an interview, he revealed that he encountered many difficulties when starting the company. He further added that when he realized that his faculty was not able to achieve what he expected, he personally went to lecture at his host university and traveled for almost five years for this purpose as his host university was located in different cities and states . He gave his first interactive lecture in 2008 and has continued to hold public seminars. In 2011, he began recording live broadcasts and began uploading them to his YouTube channel.
Prashant Adwat Foundation
In December 2015, he established the Prashant Advait Foundation, a non-profit social spiritual organization. He founded the organization with the goal of eradicating the lies that exist among individuals and society at large. The goal is to develop a scientific and spiritual approach to self and life. Through this organization, he started online courses on Advaita Vedanta (Hindu Sadhana), teaching 17 forms of the Gita and 60 forms of the Upanishads. Apart from offering Vedanta courses within its own organization, Acharya’s Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) is also actively building partnerships with reputed engineering and management institutions in India. They provide Vedanta courses to the students of these colleges for free without charging any fees or donations. - In 2022, Acharya Prashant was awarded the title of ‘Most Influential Vegan’ by PETA India.
- He received the Karya Siddhi Award at the iMD Awards 2022 organized by Purush Aayog on the occasion of International Men’s Day.
Facts/Trivia
- Acharya revealed in an interview that he has loved reading since his childhood. He revealed that he began reading about Operation Blue Star when he was five years old. He further added that he started reading classical and spiritual books at a very young age.
- While working in the company, he used weekends to teach a self-designed course called “Leadership from a Literary Perspective” at an MBA school.
- Acharya Prashant decided to resign from his post as an Administrative Service Officer (Personnel Officer of Indian Railways) to guide the younger generation towards spirituality and bring about social reforms.
- In 2000, he qualified for CAT and UPSC examinations. Later he was also selected into the IRPS service and left the service to teach Vedanta to the younger generation.
- Apart from teaching, Acharya Prashant also has various other responsibilities. He actively promotes vegetarianism, advocates environmental causes, supports scientific undertakings, opposes superstition, and advocates the importance of basic human freedoms.
