Ada Ameh, a Nigerian comedian and actress, died on July 17 at the age of 48. Emeka Rollas, President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria announced the news. The cause of her death is still unknown. However, she was confirmed dead on Sunday at about 11pm at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) hospital. Ameh’s death comes just two years after the loss of her daughter Aladi Godgift to a botched operation in October 2020.
Ada Ameh suffered from depression
According to sources, Ada fell while visiting an oil worker and his family. She was immediately rushed to the hospital, but died before arriving. After the death of her family members, the actress reportedly faced mental problems. Ada had already lost six siblings and her father before her daughter died in 2020. In June 2022, she highlighted her mental health issues and claimed that she had been offered a job but could not take it due to her emotional state.
In a video on her Instagram, she said:
“All will be well. Now I am dealing with a problem that threatens my life. I will not fail. We will overcome it.”
Ada spoke with grief about her struggle after her daughter died in a telecast on July 1, 2022.

Ada Ameh Early Life, Career and Other Facts
Ada Ameh, who was born on May 15, 1974, has been a member of the Nigerian movie business for almost two decades. She rose to fame with roles in the 1996 film Domitilla and the popular television series The Johnsons. Ameh was raised in Ajegunle, Lagos and completed her schooling there. However, she left school when she was 14 years old. She first appeared in Nollywood in 1995, with the movie Domitilla. Zeb Ejiro produced and directed the film, which was a box office triumph. She later appeared on the Nigerian TV program The Johnsons, which was equally well received.
Despite being a popular actress, Ameh had to deal with many problems throughout her life. She got pregnant at the age of 13. Ameh told Chude Jideonwo 2021 that her classmates encouraged her to get pregnant. She went on to say,
“The best thing is that my child was only five months old on my 15th birthday.” “They took me out of the barracks.”
Around the same time, she began drinking excessively and became addicted to alcohol. Ameh was single for several years.
