Adriana Lima Makes Angelic Return to 2024 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 6 Years After Final Walk: See Her Wings!

Adriana Lima got her wings back for the first time in six years!

Brazilian supermodel and veteran Angel, 43, walked in Victoria’s Secret’s return fashion show on October 15. She dazzled the crowd in a sparkly bra and underwear, plaid sleeves and matching pants plus VS pink wings.

Lima made a heart with her hands while closing the first segment of the show, which began with Lisa’s performance, followed by Gigi Hadid’s appearance.

Victoria’s Secret announced the return of the “guardian angel” to the show in collaboration with her on Instagram. Lima told the taxi driver her destination: “Home.” I’m going home,” mimicking a scene from the movie How to be single. “Can you take me to the Victoria’s Secret show?”

The last show was held in 2018, when Lima retired. The crowd responded enthusiastically when she took to the runway at the show on Tuesday night.

The Brazilian model first appeared in the Victoria’s Secret fashion show in 1999, walking in 18 Victoria’s Secret fashion shows before retiring in 2018.

During her tenure with Victoria’s Secret, she wore the Fantasy Bra three times, along with countless other show-stopping looks.

“I’m so excited and nervous and anxious,” Lima told PEOPLE ahead of the show. “Nervousness and anxiety don’t come from a bad place. It’s something really big for me and what I love. I’m very happy to be in the Victoria’s Secret show because this is where it all started for me. My first show was in 1999 in New York. My last show of 2018 was also in New York, and I’m really excited to be back, and it feels great.”

Lima added that returning to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was also like a “family reunion.”

“Some of these models have been my fellow angels and partners for a while,” she said. “It’s good to see them. Many of them are now mums like me. We have lots of things to talk about. I’m sure everyone at home and all the Victoria’s Secret fans will be pleased and amazed by what I’m about to see.”

Lima closed the 2018 show, the brand’s last show before a six-year hiatus, in a feather halo and silver-detailed top. Lima had tears in her eyes on the runway, and at the end of the catwalk, she held her hands on her chest and thanked the audience.

She told PEOPLE before her latest walk that this would be the pinnacle of her career with the brand.

“I always love being on the catwalks and being part of the Victoria’s Secret show. That’s my favorite,” said Lima.

The model told PEOPLE that she will focus on new projects that empower women. On Instagram, she thanked Victoria’s Secret for “not only giving me wings, but teaching me to fly.”

In 2023, Lima celebrated Victoria’s Secret’s shift towards inclusivity.

Victoria’s Secret’s emphasis on inclusion began in 2019 when the brand faced backlash over its lack of body diversity, leading to the cancellation of a fashion show. The brand began advertising more body diversity and tried to make stores more welcoming with brighter lighting and pale pink walls.

“I feel that as a woman, and I’m still in fashion — I’m 42 and a mother of five, so I feel like I’m still being celebrated at this stage in my life,” Lima told PEOPLE at the time. “It’s great to see that no matter what stage you’re at [in life]for my kids and the new models coming up, it’s encouraging.”
