Late danger in every way! Host Alex Trebek brought him back alive

Executive producer Mike Richards said Today in January 2021 that Trebek was an “absolute warrior” during his final days at the studio.

“What he was able to do by coming back on set to do the final episodes, and we didn’t know it was going to be his last episodes, and neither did he, but it was Herculean,” said Richards, 45 at the time.

He added that, looking back, Trebek “was in a lot of pain,” but fans “won’t feel any of it” because of his persistence.

“He’s strong, he sounds great, he’s fun and he’s amazing,” Richards said.
