Alix Earle has issued an apology for racist social media posts she made when she was 13.
Although the posts posted on the ASKfm website first surfaced on Reddit two years ago, they have resurfaced in the past few weeks after being shared on various online platforms
Since then, fans have asked Earle, 23, to address the tweets through the comments section of each of her TikToks, prompting her to address the controversial posts in a lengthy statement she shared on her TikTok and Instagram Stories on Monday, August 26. .
The statement began with the beauty and lifestyle influencer apologizing for using the word “n—-.”

“A few weeks ago screenshots from my old ask.fm account surfaced showing me using profanity in the summer of 2014. I take responsibility and want to make it clear that I was 13 and didn’t understand the deep offensive meaning behind the word,” she wrote.
“That’s not an excuse to use that word in any context or at any age. It’s absolutely not the way I speak or what I stand for,” Earle continued. “I am deeply sorry that my words have hurt many and led people to believe that I have any prejudice in my heart. I promise you that could not be further from the truth.”
Noting that she was “sincerely sorry to those I offended,” she added, “I’m sorry for how I handled this situation, letting too many people talk me down for too long.”

“I wasn’t sure how to deal with it and unfortunately the advice I got, although well-intentioned, was wrong. I can’t blame anyone but myself for not standing my ground and speaking up straight away.”

Earle, who has 7.1 million followers and more than a billion likes on TikTok, the platform where her “Get Ready with Me” (GRWM) videos helped her rise to fame, continued her statement by addressing rumors that she protected his old posts and that he lost his partnership with the brand.

“In the absence of me addressing this, my silence has allowed others to fill the void with rumors that are simply not true.
