All About Bryan Cranston’s Daughter Taylor Dearden Cranston

Bryan Cranston and Robin Dearden’s daughter, Taylor Dearden Cranston, is following in their acting footsteps.

The couple met on the set of a TV show and married on July 8, 1989. About four years later, Bryan and Robin welcomed Taylor on February 12, 1993.

It didn’t take long for Taylor, who goes by the name Taylor Dearden, to join the same industry as her parents, landing roles both alongside her father and on her own. Bryan noted that despite his fame and Robin’s experience in the industry, Taylor found success without their help.

“She is very independent and very conscientious about not having any connections or hints of nepotism,” he told za British GQ in 2023

Although they have busy acting careers, Bryan shared with PEOPLE that the three of them had to slow down as a family during the COVID-19 pandemic and had a moment to reflect on his pride in Taylor.

In 2015, Taylor graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in theater. While attending school, she starred in a comedy web series 101 ways to get rejected.

When she wasn’t in front of the camera, Taylor was out on campus trying out new activities.

“My college experience was really amazing,” she shared NYLON 2016 “I was a GDI, which in Greek life means God Damn Independent, so I didn’t belong in a sorority.”

Taylor continued, “All my female friends were in sororities and some of my male friends were in fraternities. I rushed, not because I wanted to join, but because I wanted to see and experience it… [it was] nothing but beautiful.”

She is an actress

After graduating from USC, she appeared on the MTV series Sweet/mean, in which she played the character of Ophelia. She also starred in American vandal and For all mankind.

In 2023, she appeared in the Apple TV+ series The last thing he said to me with Jennifer Garner.

She acted alongside her father Breaking Bad

In 2010, Taylor appeared in one episode Breaking Bad with his dad. She played a high school student taught by her father’s character, Walter White.

Although it was the only time she appeared on the show, Taylor also inspired Bryan’s performance during a certain scene on the hit series.

In November 2015, he appeared on Inside the acting studio and shared that his daughter helped him evoke real emotions in a scene where he watched Krysten Ritter’s character, Jane, die of an overdose.

“[White] hears [Jane] she starts coughing and he goes to her because it’s a human instinct,” Bryan said. “Before he gets to her, he stops and thinks, ‘Wait a minute—she’s a drug addict. He keeps Jesse on heroin; she will kill him. I’m better off doing nothing. But she’s a girl—she’s young enough to be my daughter.’ ”

The Malcolm in the middle alum revealed that Taylor crossed his mind while filming the scene, which brought him to tears. “Then I see my own daughter’s face in her place, and I didn’t want that; I didn’t plan it,” he added about his emotional performance.

She passionately advocates for women’s rights

Taylor starred in MTV Sweet/mean, a show about two friends seeking justice after being sexually assaulted on campus. The series had a profound impact on the actress, who was grateful to be a part of the show’s message.

“It’s a show about women written by women, and you can tell it’s coming from a place of knowledge and compassion, empathy and excitement, or the struggle to do the right thing,” she told NYLON. “We just hope that the survivors take this as a positive message: ‘We are ready to fight for you.’ ”

She celebrates her dad’s achievements

One of Taylor’s first red carpet appearances was Breaking Bad premiere of the second season in 2009 with mom and dad by her side. In the following years, she attended the Primetime Emmy Awards in 2010 and the Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2012 with her parents.

The following year, Taylor celebrated her father’s addition to the Hollywood Walk of Fame by posing for photos and kissing him on the cheek.

Most recently, in December 2023, the couple attended a Los Angeles Rams game together.

She is a photographer

When not on set, Taylor works on other creative projects, such as photography. She has her own Instagram account where she shares her art called Taylor Dearden Photography.

The actress shot her photos on 35mm film, including pictures of her mom Robin, snowy landscapes, beaches and more.

She donated her hair several times

On her Instagram in June 2023, Taylor shared a video of herself cutting off most of her hair, explaining that she was donating it.

In the video, Taylor watched as the hairdresser cut off her two long ponytails. “If you can, donate your hair! This is donation number 4 or 5 for me,” she wrote on the video.
